Moyes not carried away by Everton start

Everton boss David Moyes believes his Champions League qualifying team of 2005 is the best he has ever had and does not want to make comparisons with his current side until the end of the season.

The Toffees have been firing on all cylinders this term, sitting second in the Premier League with 13 points from six games, having already gained the scalp of Manchester United.

Their points tally is the club's best from the first six games of a campaign since they achieved the same feat eight years ago - the season in which they went on to secure fourth spot and a place in the Champions League qualifying rounds.

While Moyes is in no doubt that his side are in a excellent vein of form at the moment, he has stressed that it is only after the duration of a full season that he will be able to properly compare his current crop with the class of 2005.

"I would agree that we are in good form, but I think the year that we got to the Champions League, that was probably the best team I've had because of what they achieved, and more importantly, that they did it week in and week out,'' Moyes said.

"It's okay saying that you are in good form, but we've only played six games in the Premier League. What we have to talk about is what those boys have done after 38 games in the Premier League.

"We're in form just now, but let's see if they are consistent and keep it going for the rest of the season.''
