Three-time World Cup winner and Brazil legend Pele on Wednesday said he is concerned over the lack of construction progress for his country's hosting of the 2014 World Cup, having been included on the planning committee.
"The biggest concern is that some of the construction work is running late. That is worrying," Pele said during an interview on ESPN Deportes.
"The events will not have many problems, our worry is the administration, construction, airports, hotels and accommodation. They are all running a little late.
"It's a big responsibility for Brazil because we will host the greatest events in sports history. Brazil must prove that, as a country, we are not only good on the field, but off the field as well."
Pele was personally invited by Brazil president Dilma Rousseff to join the planning committee for the event. Brazil is also hosting the Olympics in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
