Pulis wants everyone on board

Stoke manager Tony Pulis does not want to lose any players from his 25-man Premier League squad after lining up the permanent departure of Danny Higginbotham to Ipswich.

Higginbotham, 33, has a fortnight of his loan spell at Portman Road to run and is expected to secure a long-term move there in January.

And the Potters boss believes he needs all other hands on deck as he ponders trips to Liverpool on Sunday and Manchester United immediately after the upcoming international break.

"I'm not really keen to let anyone go from the 25 at the moment," Pulis said. "We've got a tough run of games coming up, so we will see what's what after that."

But, as a thank-you to the long-serving Higginbotham, who has played 128 games for the club over two spells, Pulis will not stand in the way of his wish to play regular first-team football.

"He's a great lad, a great ambassador for this club and one of the bedrocks it has been built on," he said.

"But I understand his wish to be playing, especially at this stage of his career, so, if I can help him, I certainly will. We should never forget the contribution made by Danny, both on and off the field. I certainly won't."

Following the departure of Ricardo Fuller to Charlton, Pulis is looking to find new clubs for the two other senior pros excluded from his 25-man squad - Mama Sidibe and Diego Arismendi.

"Both have had little injury concerns lately but hopefully they will be up and running soon, so there may be something there in the next week or two," he added.
