Bonera explains Robinho's Milan fan snub

After AC Milan failed to win for the fifth time in seven games this season, defender Daniele Bonera claimed Robinho's refusal to acknowledge the club's fans after the match was simply down to him being "upset at the result".

The Rossoneri drew 1-1 with Parma on Saturday but while his team-mates thanked the supporters who had travelled to Stadio Ennio Tardini to watch the match, Robinho headed straight to the dressing-room, despite Bonera's best efforts to force him to applaud fans.

However, the defender believes it was understandable as he explained the incident to the Milan Channel before looking ahead to the next seven days, which sees Massimiliano Allegri's struggling side face Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League and city rivals Inter Milan in Serie A.

"I am amazed there is controversy over this," Bonera said. "Robinho was a little irritated at the end of the game and was upset at the result, so he went straight into the locker room. That is all that happened. There was no argument with him.

"We played well but didn't finish off our chances and remain a little inconsistent. At least it was a positive performance to lead us into Zenit and the derby."
