Roy Keane set for Turkey stint

Roy Keane is on the brink of a return to club management, as he is set to be named as boss at Turkish top flight side Kasimpasa in the next 48 hours.

Keane has been working as a TV pundit since he was sacked by Ipswich last year and his decision to relaunch his career in Turkey will come as something of a surprise to those who had been expecting the Irishman to try and win himself another chance in English football.

The former Manchester United captain enjoys life in Cheshire with his wife and children, but his eagerness to find a route back into the game is set to see him move out of his comfort zone and take on a challenge that will be very much a step into the unknown.

Keane would replace Metin Diyadin at Kasimpasa, who as surprisingly sacked despite winning wide acclaim for the job he has been doing with the club based in Istanbul and recently boosted by the arrival of some wealthy investors in their revamped board.

If Keane is to be their high profile managerial appointment, he will need to deliver instant success as the Kasimpasa owners are desperate to put their club on the map in double quick time and as have shown with their sacking of Diyadin, their patience is in short supply.
