Faure proud to play for Rangers

Sebastien Faure insists he is proud to play for Rangers and does not regret signing for them despite the club being relegated to the fourth tier of Scottish football this summer.

Faure, 21, joined Ibrox on a free transfer in August after being released from his previous club Lyon, where he progressed through the youth academy.

After moving from a club playing their football in Ligue 1 to one now playing in the Scottish Third Division, the former France Under-20 international says it was the right decision and is adamant he can help his new side move up the leagues.

"I signed for Rangers, not to play in the fourth division. This is a great club. Here, you know, just by seeing the trophy room, it is a great club where the past weighs heavily," Faure told France Football. "The plan is to move up rung by rung until we get to the Scottish Premier League. That is something that really interested me when signing."

Since arriving in Glasgow, Faure has been blown away by the support for the club that is still as strong as ever, even after the free-fall down the divisions.

"In the first league game there was 49 000 people, the second, 46 000, the third 45 000! It's just incredible. You would not see people go to the stadium if Lyon should fall into the fourth division. Here it's another world," he said. "I am in a big club and I have the opportunity to build a great adventure."
