Pulis: We need a change of luck

Tony Pulis wants to put an end to Stoke City's miserable run of just one Premier League victory in their last 16 matches.

Pulis and his staff have been submerged in the miserable sequence since March and the only success during that period came with the defeat of relegated Wolves.

The Stoke manager has been at pains to point out his side have been forced to endure a difficult start to the new campaign, which has included fixtures against Premier League champions Manchester City and Champions League winners Chelsea.

But even at such an early stage of the new campaign, Pulis believes Saturday's fixture against Swansea is beginning to take on added significance as Stoke look for only their second win in over six months.

"Swansea is now a big game for us, but every game at the Britannia Stadium is a big one," Pulis said. "We need a change of luck and we need our supporters to get behind us at the weekend."

Stoke had collected four draws before their first defeat of the season against Chelsea at the weekend and Pulis added: "We have had a very difficult start to the season with the fixtures. There is no doubt about that.

"Whenever we have needed that little bit of help from our fans in the past they have never let us down, so we want to make sure we fill the stadium for this game. Although the performances have been good so far, we haven't had that little bit of luck, but if we keep working hard it will change for us."
