Lennon stays silent over Celtic charge

Neil Lennon refused to comment on the charges brought against Celtic by the Scottish Football Association after they allowed fans to display a banner depicting a Rangers 'zombie' being shot.

The Glasgow club were issued with a notice of complaint by the SFA on Thursday following the controversial banner's appearance at Parkhead, in their pre-season friendly against Norwich in July.

They have been accused of breaking four SFA rules over the incident: allowing the banner into the ground, letting it be displayed, not removing it and letting the banner be unfurled for a second time without taking action.

When asked on the matter ahead, of his side's league game against Dundee on Saturday, Lennon remained silent.

"I have seen the story but I can't comment on that, that is between the SFA and the club hierarchy here," he said.

The Scottish champions have until September 27 to respond to the charge while the hearing will be held on October 11.
