Nkoulou praises Marseille team spirit

Olympique Marseille's Nicolas Nkoulou has hailed the atmosphere that has helped the club get off to a flying start this season.

The French side currently sit top of the Ligue 1 table, having won their first five fixtures while conceding just one goal.

And the turnaround comes after a troubled second half of last season that saw them go 12 games without a win.

''There was a lot of tension last year but not anymore. The group lives better together," Nkoulou told RMC.

However, despite things running smoothly at the moment, Nkoulou, 22, is quick to point out that it could all turn around very quickly.

"This pleasure is obvious, but everything could turn wrong in football very quickly" he said. "We are happy with our start, but we don't have to get blazed. The group is tight, those on the bench deserve to be, even if they're not well known. We're working well during trainings, we'll try to manage well the season."

Marseille kick off their Europa League campaign on Thursday with a trip to Fenerbache.
