Thiago Silva is set to make his debut for Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night when the club mark their return to Champions League action.
Silva, 27, signed for PSG from AC Milan for a fee in the region of €42 million in the summer, but has not yet made his bow for the Ligue 1 club after he sustained a thigh injury when representing Brazil at the Olympics.
The defender has since been working on his fitness, and, with Mamadou Sakho absent, he is poised to be named in the starting XI for the game against Dynamo Kiev.
PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti said: "Thiago Silva is available, he can play. Sakho has a little problem, it's risky to make him play.
"My aim is to line up the best team possible. I don't know how many changes I will make to the team, but one is certain - Thiago Silva."
The French side are making their return to the Champions League after an eight-year absence, and Ancelotti is anticipating a memorable atmosphere at the Parc des Princes.
He added: "Everybody is excited and ready to play this game. The fans are waiting for it. We'll do our best. We have no pressure, but the first game is always very important."
Gregory van der Wiel will miss out on Tuesday evening as he is not yet fully fit, but Ezequiel Lavezzi, Mathieu Bodmer and Mohamed Sissoko are all available.
