Santos striker Neymar has revealed his regret at team-mate and friend Ganso's proposed exit to rivals Sao Paulo.
The pair grew up together at Santos, however Ganso, 22, now looks set for a move across the city to Sao Paulo after the two clubs recently entered into talks.
The Brazil midfielder, who has also been linked with a move to Europe, failed to agree a new contract with his club and soon requested a transfer.
Despite being sad at the prospect of his friend leaving, Neymar, 20, is eager to get one over him if they square up against each other next season.
"He is a nice guy, who is leaving. He is a friend who I really like, but he's about to leave," Neymar told Globo Esporte.
"It will be a little weird, but I will need to beat him. It will be the first time that I'll have to beat someone I want to play with."
