Sneijder denies Inter fall out

Wesley Sneijder has denied accusations of a bust-up with Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni, after he reacted angrily to being substituted in Sunday night's 2-0 win at Torino.

• Whittaker: Another comfortable away win for Inter in Turin

Sneijder, 28, was taken off after just 66 minutes with Inter leading 1-0 - a move which led to the player immediately heading to the dressing room without acknowledging the bench.

Yet the Netherlands international insists there was no row with Stramaccioni, he was simply annoyed at missing out on game-time.

"Great victory yesterday!!" he said on Twitter. "Was a bit angry, because I want to play everything... Not because I have a problem with the coach. But I know there are many games to play... Preparing for Thursday ;).''

Stramaccioni was also quick to deny there was a problem between the two, stressing it was a "normal" reaction from the player.

"It's only normal that he'd be angry," he told Sky Italia. "Sneijder is an important player and he'd love to play every game to the end, but he had played for Holland this week and I also wanted to send a message to the team by introducing another striker. I didn't want us to be pegged back."

The Inter boss was happy with his side's performance - which saw Sneijder's replacement, Antonio Cassano, seal the game with the second goal - but he can still see room for improvement.

"I think we prepared the game very well against a side with clear characteristics," he added. "We kept the ball for most of the match and controlled the opposition forwards.

"In the second half we gave away the ball in too many dangerous positions and the tide could've turned at that point. It was important for us to get the win after our setback against Roma, especially as Torino were one of the form teams."
