Milan lose at home to Atalanta

Milan continued their stuttering start to the Serie A season with a home defeat against Atalanta

The curse of the San Siro continued for AC Milan as they lost for the second time by the same 1-0 scoreline with Atalanta following the example of Sampdoria by taking all three points.

Luca Cigarini scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute as the Bergamese side took all three points at a venue where the home team, be it Milan or Inter, have yet to win in five attempts so far this season.

Milan went close enough on numerous occasions, but lacked a cutting edge as a tactically perfect Atalanta side took three points with them on their short trip home.

Maiden Serie A goals from Egidio Arevalo Rios and Marco Sau saw Palermo and Cagliari draw 1-1 at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

The Uruguayan scored five minutes before half time to give Palermo the lead, but Sau's reply two minutes from the end meant both sides failed to get the win they were looking for.

The 1-1 draw leaves both island clubs still searching for their first wins of the season after three matches.
