2013 dates set for England matches

England will play Brazil and Ireland in two-match tours as part of the England Football Association's 150th anniversary celebrations.

England will host Brazil on Feb. 6, 2013 and Ireland on May 29, 2013 at Wembley Stadium. In return, five-time FIFA World Cup winner Brazil will host England in Rio as part of a two-game tour in early June 2013, while Ireland will host England at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on November 2014.

The friendly match in Dublin will mark the first time Ireland hosts England since fans forced their last encounter to be abandoned in 1995 after England fans tore up seats and hurled missiles after David Kelly had put Ireland ahead, 1-0.

Talk of a return had been ongoing for several years, but the two associations have now finally reached an agreement.

Due to the FA's schedule, England does not play any World Cup qualifiers at the end of the Premier League season and is due back by June 11, 2013. The match vs. Ireland marks Ireland's first visit to Wembley since 1991.

"Our players do not have any experience of playing in South America and it will undoubtedly be beneficial for the team to travel and play in Brazil, a year ahead of the World Cup," said Club England managing director Adrian Bevington on the FA website. "We negotiated our qualifying schedule with a specific view to allowing this."
