Huddlestone has red rescinded

The red card received by Tom Huddlestone during Tottenham Hotspur's 1-1 draw with Norwich City has been rescinded.

Huddlestone, 25, was dismissed in the 89th minute of the Premier League match at White Hart Lane by referee Mark Halsey for a sliding challenge on Jonny Howson.

Spurs chose to appeal against the decision, and on Tuesday the Football Association confirmed that the club had been successful, meaning the midfielder will no longer serve a three-match ban.

A statement on the FA's website read: "Tottenham Hotspur's Tom Huddlestone has had his claim for wrongful dismissal upheld. As a result, the three-match suspension handed to the midfielder has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

"Huddlestone had originally received a red card for serious foul play in his side's 1-1 draw at home to Norwich City on Saturday 1 September 2012."

Spurs have endured a disappointing start to the 2012-13 season, losing to Newcastle on the opening day before playing out two frustrating 1-1 home draws with West Brom and Norwich.
