PSG sign Van der Wiel

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Ajax fullback Gregory van der Wiel for a reported fee of €6 million.

• Lille 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain

Netherlands international Van der Wiel, who played in all three of the Dutch team's matches at Euro 2012, has signed a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 club.

The 24-year-old came through Ajax's famed youth academy and had made 130 league appearances for his hometown club after making his debut FC Twente in 2007.

The French transfer window closes on Tuesday night and Van der Wiel's arrival will provide competition for Christophe Jallet.

Speaking after PSG's 2-1 win over Lille on Sunday, coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "He will start training with us next week. Christophe was the only player at this position. There will be competition but it won't be a problem for Christophe."

Jallet, who won his first cap for France last month in a 0-0 draw with Uruguay, says he welcomes the Dutchman's arrival.

''He is a very good player," Jallet said on Sunday. "I saw him during Euro 2012. I will have to be good during the week to play at the weekend."
