Hibs hold Celtic to draw

Celtic twice threw away the lead against Hibernian to drop two points as they drew 2-2 at Parkhead.

Mikael Lustig notched his first goal for the Hoops in the 11th minute when he fired in from a Paddy McCourt corner but a disastrous mix-up between the Swedish defender and keeper Fraser Forster in the 53rd minute allowed Tim Clancy to equalise.

Lustig was involved again when Hibs skipper James McPake appeared to knock the ball into his own net after Easter Road keeper Ben Williams had made a mess of a Filip Twardzik free-kick but again poor defending by the champions allowed Paul Cairney to slip all too easily into their box and level with a drive.

St Johnstone are still seeking their first win of the season after their Tayside derby with Dundee United ended in a 0-0 draw.

Both sides created opportunities to score in an even first 45 minutes that saw Saints' on-loan Aberdeen winger Peter Pawlett and Stuart Armstrong denied by their opposing goalkeepers. The second half was poor by comparison and it was no surprise that the stalemate continued right through to the full-time whistle.

Aberdeen's scoring troubles continued as they were held to a goalless home draw by St Mirren.

The Dons, who have now failed to score in four of their opening five league matches, enjoyed the better of the chances and went closest to finding the net when substitute Cameron Smith headed onto the crossbar after 72 minutes, but they could find no way through.

Ross County and Kilmarnock settled for a point apiece in an entertaining goalless draw at Global Energy Stadium.

The result stretched County's unbeaten run of league matches to 39 with another solid display against a battling Killie outfit.

There was little in the way of clear-cut chances throughout the 90 minutes with both defences on top and a draw was probably a fair result. County's best chance of the game fell to Marc Fitzpatrick in the first half but his goalbound effort was booted off the line by Killie defender James Fowler.
