Transfer Rater: Lucas Moura to Spurs

Bayern notch up five in a row

Bayern Munich continued their perfect start to the Bundesliga season when they chalked up their fifth win in five games against Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio became the latest to concede two or more goals against Bayern, who have scored 17 goals in their five matches so far.

Switzerland international Benaglio said: "One could see what a great team Bayern have.

"We were only one down at half time, but we made life difficult for ourselves in the second half. We were too far away from our opponents - and against Bayern, that's fatal.

Bayern changed their team once again - Arjen Robben recently voiced concerns at the number of alterations to the line-up so far this season - because Thomas Muller was absent with a cold and Toni Kroos and Luiz Gustavo were rested.

Coach Jupp Heynckes fielded Javi Martinez, Xerdan Shaqiri and Franck Ribery, and could have seen his side four up at the break but for Benaglio.

However, Bastian Schweinsteiger's goal after 24 minutes put Bayern in front and two more from Mario Mandzukic secured a 3-0 win that leaves them seven points ahead of fith-placed Borussia Dortmund.

Frustrated Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath said: "We were hoping Bayern would not take us too seriously. But that hope vanished soon. You have to acknowledge that Bayern are out of our league."

In-form Mandzukic said competition for places was driving Bayern on, and added: "Every one of us is fighting for the others out on the field, and that's how we want to carry on. I'm enjoying every day with this team."

Bayern travel to Werder Bremen this weekend, looking to make it six wins in succession.
