Villas-Boas wants two more at Spurs

Tottenham boss Andre Villa-Boas is disappointed that two of his prime transfer targets have been priced too high for chairman Daniel Levy but he is still hopeful of securing two new faces.

Villas-Boas wanted Shakhtar Donetsk star Willian and Sporting Lisbon's Joao Moutinho but so far Levy has refused to meet the their clubs' demands of £25 million each.

A Spurs source told ESPN there would be a beat-the-deadline effort to sign the players favoured by the new boss but the big two were "unlikely" to join, adding that "the asking prices are too high".

Levy personally led a Spurs delegation to the Ukraine in an attempt to sign Willian this week but the offer of £12.5 million was flatly refused by Shakhtar.

The Spurs chairman, though, has not been in France trying to sign Marseille forward Loic Remy despite reports to the contrary.

Despite Michael Dawson and Jermain Defoe now staying at White Hart Lane, however, Villas-Boas is still hoping to add two more players before the window closes.
