Liverpool snap up German youngster

Liverpool have completed the signing of striker Samed Yesil from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of around £1 million.

Yesil, 18, has represented Germany at Under-16, U-17 and U-18 level and will join the club's youth ranks after passing his medical.

"The first thing is that I have to train and then in one or two years I hope, step by step, to be in the first team," he told the Liverpool website. "It is my dream to play for Liverpool and I will give my all."

The German hit six goals for his country at the U-17 World Cup last summer, finishing second top scorer.
