Premier Showdown - Aug 25-26

Dale Johnson enjoyed a fine start to the defence of his Premier Showdown title, holding off Tommy Smyth by a point to win the opening round. It wasn't such a good start for our team of challengers, the Rest of the World, as they never really got going and finished third. Looking to put that right this weekend is Gerard Mulreaney who comes from Galway in Tommy's native Ireland. Gerard tells us: "Hi, I'm a 41 year old bus driver in Galway. I'm a Nottingham Forest fan for over 30 years so I've seen the good times and the bad but I'm still optimistic that we'll get back to the top some day." Let's see what the predictions are.

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on Press Pass' Tommy Smyth and ESPN journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

Tommy Smyth and the Rest of the World share the points in the latest round of Showdown - but it was a close run affair.

Table after Round Two
Dale: 3
Rest of the World: 1.5
Tommy: 1.5

Final table 2011-12
Dale: 44
Rest of the World: 41
Tommy: 29

Best week's total of season: 13, Dale Johnson
