Coutinho happy at Inter

Inter Milan forward Philippe Coutinho is not worried by the extra competition for places and insists he is happy to see the arrival of Antonio Cassano.

Having returned from an impressive season on loan in La Liga with Espanyol, the Brazilian hoped to become a regular for the Nerazzurri under new manager Andrea Stramaccioni, but found himself on the bench on the opening day of the season, with new signing Cassano given the nod instead.

Speaking ahead of Inter's Europa League tie with Romanian side Vaslui, the 20-year-old striker seemed content with the added challenges at the club.

"I'm relaxed about it all, Cassano has come in and I'm happy about it. He's a great player and it's a positive signing. Personally I just try to do my job and give everything on the pitch, I hope to keep improving and learning all the time."

It seems both Coutinho and Cassano will face additional competition for a place in the team with Inter chasing veteran Lazio striker Tommaso Rocchi.

"The player hasn't been offered to Inter but they did make an enquiry. Rocchi's situation was discussed but a negotiation for his transfer has yet to begin. The player would, obviously, think about it," Rocchi's agent told Gazzetta dello Sport.
