Swans chairman unhappy with Man City

Swansea City chairman Huw Richards has voiced his frustration at the way Manchester City have handled their pursuit of winger Scott Sinclair.

Sinclair has been linked with a move to the Etihad in recent weeks, with a fee of around £6 million mooted, but attempts to conclude the deal have been protracted and left Swans manager Brian Laudrup with little time in which to bring in a replacement.

Laudrup, who has enjoyed a dream start to his stint at the Liberty Stadium, saw Sinclair come on as a substitute and score the fifth goal in the rout of QPR at Loftus Road on the opening day.

The player, who has a year left on his current contract and announced that he would not be signing a new one, is keen to move, but an unhappy Richards said: "It has been dragging on a while.

"I'd have thought if they really wanted to sign Scott they would have dealt with it a bit better than they have - but that's their business."

Jenkins stressed that the arrival of any new faces at Swansea before the window closes did not depend on Sinclair's move to the Premier League champions being concluded.

He explained: "Our proposed signing of a couple of players is not dependent on Scott's transfer out - it's more about numbers and making sure we have the right numbers in the squad."
