Lukaku expects team-mate to fire

West Bromwich Albion's expectant fans will see fireworks from new signing Yassine El Ghanassy, according to his fellow Belgian Romelu Lukaku.

• Morrison: We'll prove doubters wrong

Powerful striker Lukaku has made an explosive start to his spell on loan at The Hawthorns from Chelsea with a goal on his debut against Liverpool followed by a dynamic contribution as a substitute in Saturday's draw at Tottenham.

Now he believes another of the club's summer captures, El Ghanassy, is about to catch the eye of the fans who have been relishing Albion's early form.

The winger, on loan from Gent, has not yet figured in the Premier League but is close friends with his international team-mate and is due for a first competitive Baggies appearance in Tuesday's Capital One Cup tie at Yeovil.

"We have been good friends for many years," Lukaku said. "He is an exciting player. He can play like Eden Hazard, but on the left wing. That's his position. His ability to give strikers assistance, his ability to go around the outside of players is what he can do well. Hazard is strong and can excite the crowd.

"I'm not saying El Ghanassy is like Hazard but what he does have is that ability to excite the crowd. Now he has that opportunity and I think we will see something from Yassine, too. I think some people will be amazed of his qualities. He is that good."

With Peter Odemwingie still nursing the thigh strain that ruled him out at White Hart Lane, there could also be a first start against the League One pacesetters for Sweden international Markus Rosenberg, who made a substitute appearance against Spurs.

Head coach Steve Clarke said: "Markus was lively [at Spurs]. If he can get more minutes, it will be good for us and good for him. That's one of the things we'll look at. I've got a number of players in the squad who deserve to play. It's up to me to get the balance right between putting too many in and playing some of the boys who played on Saturday. This is a competition we will take seriously and whichever team we play has to go there with the right attitude."
