Goian plans to return

Dorin Goian insists he intends to return to Rangers at the end of his loan spell to Serie B side Spezia.

• Goain heads to Serie B

Goain, 31, left Rangers last week as he seeks to keep his hopes of playing for Romania at the 2014 World Cup alive.

"I was happy to stay, no matter the division which Rangers were playing," he told the Daily Record. "I had an offer from a club in Turkey but I wasn't looking to go anywhere.

"However, things with the national team then became clear and made up my mind for me. The national team and my country is very important - it means everything to me and it is the biggest thing a player can have.

"This is a World Cup year and I want to have the opportunity to be involved with the squad as we try to make it to the finals in 2014 in Brazil."

Goain will return to the club next summer and hopes he will be able to play in the Scottish top-flight once more.

"In ten months I'll be back to Glasgow," he said. "I am in Italy for one year for a loan and that's it.

"When it's over I'll have my contract with Rangers again and I hope something is going to change and I'll get the chance to play in the SPL again with Rangers.

"I think it will happen because I heard before I left many teams will have problems with money this year without Rangers. The TV money is down so there is good reason to make it so Rangers can come back quickly."
