Antonio Cassano believes he has now "reached the top" after signing for Inter Milan, the club he has supported since childhood.
Cassano, 30, completed a move to Inter on Wednesday morning, in a deal that saw Giampaolo Pazzini travel in the opposite direction to join AC Milan.
Now joining his fifth Serie A side, Cassano was quick to express his delight at joining the Nerazzurri, after a long wait to play for the side he supports.
"Finally, after what seems like an eternity, I've signed for the club I've always supported," Cassano told the club's official TV channel. "A big hello to the fans, who are Interisti, just like me! This is a very important time for me, because when you support a team and then you end up signing for them, it means you've reached the top."
Cassano went on to reveal he will wear the same number, 99, that he donned at both Milan and Sampdoria, adding: "Now I'm just focused on performing well right from the start against Pescara. I'm going to wear the 99 shirt, it's a number which means a lot to me.
"I said to technical director Branca and sporting diirector Ausilio that if possible I'd like the 99 shirt and they told me it was no problem."
