Johnson considering his options
Adam Johnson has indicated that he will consider his future at Manchester City if he is not given more first-team opportunities.
Johnson, 25, has found himself down the pecking order at Eastlands in recent times and, having failed to start a Premier League game since the victory over Bolton on March 3, he missed out on a place at Euro 2012.
He was given a full 90 minutes in England's 2-1 friendly victory over Italy on Wednesday, though, and hopes to cement his place in Roy Hodgson's plans, but he accepts that he may have to secure a transfer if he is to revive his career.
"I'm the kind of player that needs to be playing regularly," he said. "Any player does really, no matter what age they are. I need to play week-in week-out. You can't just go into one game after not having played for five and be expected to perform.
"It would be nice to get a run of games with England but I'm not sure if I'll get that chance at City. Time will tell."
Everton are reported to be keen on signing Johnson on loan.
