Miyaichi joins Wigan on loan

Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi has joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan deal, the North London club have announced.

Miyaichi, 19, spent a successful loan spell at Bolton towards the end of last season, making a positive impact despite the Lancashire club's last-day failure to stay in the Premier League.

The Japan international joined the Gunners in January 2011 after impressing on trial and has made two senior appearances for them, both in the Carling - now Capital One - Cup.

He made his full international debut in Japan's friendly against Azerbaijan in May, and a statement on Arsenal's official website said: "Ryo heads to the DW Stadium to gain further first-team experience under Roberto Martinez.

"Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Ryo the best of luck during his time with Wigan."
