Leon thrash Santos Laguna

Leon moved top of the fledgling Mexican Apertura standings on Friday thanks to a 3-0 home triumph over Santos Laguna.

Juan Gonzalez, Sebastian Maz and Carlos Pena were the men on target to lift Leon onto nine points from four games and ahead of Toluca - who visit Unam Pumas on Sunday - on goal difference.

Also on Friday night, a second-half brace from Esteban Paredes helped Atlante post their first win of the season with a 2-1 success at pointless Jaguares.

The Chilean struck 11 minutes after the interval and then bagged the winner five minutes from time after Luis Rey had got the hosts back on level terms.
