Pizarro joins Fiorentina

Fiorentina have announced the signing of Chilean midfielder David Pizarro from Roma for an undisclosed fee as they continue to strengthen ahead of the start of the Serie A campaign.

Pizarro, 32, spent the end of the 2011-12 season on loan at Manchester City, but failed to make a significant impact in his time at Eastlands.

The 36-cap international joined Roma in 2006 from Inter Milan, winning two Coppa Italia titles in his time at the capital club.

Pizarro becomes Fiorentina's tenth major signing of the summer, following Chilean team-mate Matias Fernandez, former-Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani and Villarreal's Borja Valero in arriving at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
