Violence mars Lazio friendly
The final game of Lazio's unsuccessful pre-season campaign was overshadowed by violent clashes between fans on Tuesday.
Lazio won the game at Salernitana 3-0, thanks to strikes from Cristian Ledesma, Stefano Mauri and Mauro Zarate, but the match will be remembered for the pre-match incidents.
Both clubs are owned by Claudio Lotito, but have a strong historical rivalry, which meant the arrival of Lazio fans in the home end of Salernitana's ground angered the locals.
The Salernitana fans were seen to throw a variety of objects, including stones, at the coaches carrying lazio supporters.
Chaos ensued around the stadium as fans fought each each other to get inside the ground, causing a stampede, with three people - a policeman, steward and a Lazio fan - suffering injuries.
