Brazil face Mexico

Brazil will take on Mexico in the final of the London 2012 Olympics at Wembley on Saturday after winning their semi-final clashes on Tuesday.

Brazil held off a determined performance from South Korea to emerge 3-0 winners at Old Trafford.

South Korea looked the better side at the start of both halves, but Brazil edged in front seven minutes before the break with a low Romulo drive after a quick break.

Leandro Damiao then put Brazil in complete control as he completed a brace with goals in the 57th and 64th minutes.

Mexico had earlier come from behind to defeat Japan 3-1 in the day's other semi-final at Wembley.

With Japan having taken an early lead through a fine strike from Yuki Otsu, Mexico responded in fine style, equalizing before the break as lively forward Marco Fabian headed home a Giovani dos Santos corner after a Jorge Enriquez flick-on.

Mexico further imposed themselves on the game in the second-half and were rewarded with two more fine goals. With 25 minutes remaining, Oribe Peralta capitalised on a Japanese defensive error to win possession and curl a fine effort into the top-corner.

Mexico looked to be playing out the win comfortably, but added extra gloss to the victory in the final-minute when Javier Cortes fired home after a powerful run down the right.
