Rodgers needs a reaction vs. West Ham

Luis Enrique, the man with a plan

Celtic face Swedish champions

Scottish Champions Celtic have been drawn against Swedish counterparts Helsingborg in the Champions League play-off round.

Neil Lennon's side progressed to the play-off stage following a 4-1 aggregate victory over HJK Helsinki and the Celtic boss is hoping to strengthen his side before the next tie.

"Now we've got a wee bit of European football we might be able to bring one or two in to augment what we've got already," said Lennon after beating Helsinki.

Swedish legend Henrik Larsson played for both Celtic and Helsingborg and is certain to be the focus of attention in the build-up.

The Bhoys will be hoping to improve upon their poor showing last season, when they crashed out of the Champions League and then the Europa League at the first hurdle.

Meanwhile, Lille will begin their Champions League challenge against Danish champions FC Copenhagen as the French club look to claim a place in the group stage.

Les Dogues finished an impressive third in Ligue 1 last season and victory over FCK in their two-legged play-off would see them join French champions Montpellier and runners-up Paris St Germain in the next round.

Borussia Monchengladbach face a tricky tie against Dynamo Kiev, who knocked out Feyenoord in the third qualifying round in midweek.

"I am shattered," Gladbach vice-chairman Rainer Bonhof said. "This will be quite a task for our players, but we are going to accept the challenge. To qualify for the group stages would be the icing on the cake."

Captain Filip Daems added: "We have to take it as it comes, but there was no buzz in the locker room."

Spanish side Malaga will be hoping to put their financial concerns aside when they meet another money-troubled side, Panathinaikos.

The Primera Division club have previously said they are willing to listen to offers for any player because of severe economic troubles, and have already sold midfielder Santi Cazorla to Arsenal.

In other play-off ties, Spartak Moscow face Fenerbahce and Udinese take on Braga.

Basel meet Romanian side CFR Cluj and BATE Borisov face Hapoel Kiryat Shmona from Israel.

Cypriot club AEL Limassol will go up against Anderlecht and Dinamo Zagreb take on Maribor of Slovenia to complete the fixtures.

The first legs will be played on August 21 and 22, with the return matches taking place the following week.
