River Plate want Pizarro deal
Chile midfielder David Pizarro could be on his way to River Plate after being omitted from Roma's pre-season training camp in Austria.
New Roma boss Zdenek Zeman has left seven players in Rome, all of whom are expected to move on during the transfer window.
River Plate, who won promotion back to the Argentinian Primera Division last season, are eager to sign the playmaker.
Club vice-President Omar Solassi told Chilean newspaper La Tercera: "We are following David - he is a great player and one we want at River Plate.
"We will talk together and make an effort to bring him here. We have some problems regarding our spaces for foreign players, but to facilitate his arrival we are ready to make the necessary sacrifices."
Pizarro joined Roma from Inter Milan in 2006 but spent the second half of last season on loan at Premier League champions Manchester City.
