Adelaide United have signed Argentine midfielder Marcelo Carrusca for the next two A-League seasons.
Carrusca, who actually holds a Portuguese passport, played for San Martin de San Juan in the Argentine Primera Division last season.
He has also played for famed Turkish club Galatasaray from where he was lent to Mexican Primera Division club Cruz Azul in 2008.
"All of our reports have indicated that Marcelo is a high quality player and individual," Adelaide football director Michael Petrillo said on Friday.
"He has played at some big clubs around the world and comes at a great time in his career."
The 28-year-old is expected to arrive in Australia within days and Adelaide United hope to have him available for the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League later this year.
