Hargreaves trains with QPR
Free agent Owen Hargreaves is in training with Queens Park Rangers.
Hargreaves, 31, has suffered extensive injury problems over the last four years, and there has been some doubt as to whether he will be able to prolong his playing career. "I am not forced to do anything and if I can't get back to the level I used to, I don't want to play," the midfielder recently said.
He had been released by Manchester United last summer, and subsequently uploaded videos to YouTube to demonstrate his fitness to potential suitors. He was subsequently given a contract by Manchester City, but in the 2011-12 campaign he made only four appearances, the last of which came in January, and was released at the end of the season.
QPR have now offered Hargreaves the chance to maintain his fitness, with manager Mark Hughes suggesting there is the possibility he will be offered a contract if he impresses.
Hughes told the club's official website: "Owen is training with the group. There is no obligation for either party. He is keen to retain his fitness and we are more than happy to help him by allowing him to train with us and use our facility at Harlington."
