Di Matteo lauds new Blue Oscar

Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo has lauded new signing Oscar ahead of the Brazilian's £25 million arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Oscar, 20, who was officially announced as a Chelsea player on Wednesday, will join Di Matteo's squad after the Olympic Games as the Blues look to extend their success of the 2011-12 season, in which they won a Champions League and FA Cup double, to the Premier League.

Di Matteo believes that the Brazil international, who can play a variety of midfield positions, will make a big impression on the Chelsea side.

"He is a fantastic player, one of the youngest to push through to the Brazilian national team and he will be a fantastic signing for us,'' Di Matteo told Chelsea's official website.

"Oscar is a very exciting young talent, a creative midfield player who scores goals. He will add a lot of options and solutions for us in midfield.''

Oscar becomes the fourth attacking midfield talent to have joined the Blues this summer, following the arrivals of Eden Hazard, his brother Thorgan and Marko Marin, as well as Belgian Kevin de Bruyne who signed for the club in January.

There has been talk of loan-moves for both De Bruyne and Thorgan Hazard, with Di Matteo facing a difficult task to keep his players happy given the competition for places.

"It will be a challenge to make sure we have the right balance within the team so we will have to see how we fit the team together with all the players,'' Di Matteo continued

"The club has always been competitive, looking to improve, get better and fight at the top end of the league so it will only give us a better chance in the Premier League.''
