Lille have completed the signing of right-back Djibril Sidibe from newly-promoted Ligue 1 club Troyes, opening the door for Mathieu Debuchy to join Newcastle.
Sidibe, 19, joins Lille with a burgeoning reputation, having been a consistent performer in Troyes' promotion campaign.
The full-back made his first start for his new side on Tuesday night, appearing in a 6-0 friendly win over Stade Montois.
"The challenge is high but extremely exciting," Sidibe said. "It's a big step in my career, as I've only played in Ligue 2 so far. I'll begin to experience the top flight and European football. I'm somehow in a new dimension."
Sidibe is also a France Under-20 international, having represented his country at the Toulon Tournament earlier this year.
