Felipe Melo talks break down
Felipe Melo has begun the search for a new club after the Juventus midfielder's proposed move to Galatasaray fell through on Monday evening.
Melo spent last season on loan at the Turkish club, and it was expected that a permanent move would be a formality this summer. However, the Brazil international's future now appears uncertain after negotiations over the transfer fee broke down.
"Today the Galatasaray management made a new request for a reduction [in transfer fee]," Melo's agent Jose Rodriguez Baster told the Anadolu News Agency.
"The effort shown by the player is not seen as significant by the club. Melo has thanked Fatih Terim for his patience since the start of the negotiations. We believe that Terim is doing everything he can for the deal.
"The fact that an agreement could not be reached has upset Felipe. It seems that this transfer is impossible. We have not received any offers from a club other than Galatasaray in Turkey. We will start looking for a new club."
Last week, Melo's father claimed Juventus were demanding too much for the player. Meanwhile, Melo confirmed via Twitter that he had agreed personal terms with Galatasaray, but urged the club to meet Juve's asking price.
Melo tweeted: "Hi GS fans!I'm in Orlando with my family and I miss a lot all you!My love for you and for GS made me accept the offer made to me!!! Now GS should show they want me and find an agreement with Juve. Cimbom!"
