Holzhauser unhappy with Heynckes

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has been accused of tapping up Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender.

• Alaba and Rafinha injured

Heynckes told a recent press conference that he had sent a text message congratulating Bender after he had scored when playing at right-back in Germany's Euro 2012 victory over Denmark. He then smiled and said: "Maybe something will come out of it."

Bayer Leverkusen general manager Wolfgang Holzhauser has now revealed that Bayern had seen an official approach for Bender rejected "immediately" last week and that the two clubs had agreed not to make the issue public.

"I don't want any bother with Bayern, but I am annoyed and very bemused that Jupp Heynckes has indirectly brought the Bender issue up in public," Holzhauser said.

He added: "I am astonished that Jupp is suddenly able to write text messages."
