Hull sign striker Proschwitz

Striker Nick Proschwitz has completed his move to Hull City from German club SC Paderborn and set his sights on winning promotion to the Premier League.

Proschwitz, 25, who has signed a three-year contract at the KC Stadium and cost Steve Bruce's Championship club £2.6 million, scored 17 goals in 33 games for the Bundesliga Two side last season.

"I'm delighted to have completed my move to the club," he told Hull's official website. "I think I have joined a great group of lads. Everyone is friendly and, most importantly, everyone likes to work and train hard - which is exactly what I like to do.

"I think Hull City is the perfect club for me and the next stage of my career. Playing in the Premier League is a big goal for me, and I believe Hull City can help me achieve that goal."

Speaking before the deal was concluded, Bruce said he thought Proschwitz would be ideal for the challenges of the Championship, adding: "He's big - 6ft 3in - but he's mobile and can finish.

"His goals in Germany last year were all different types. He's young, at a good age and wants to come to England. He's tailor-made for England in the way he plays but, of course, the big question will be how he can adapt.

"But he's been aboard before to Switzerland [where he played for FC Thun], and I would hope he could settle in very quickly."
