Milan coy on Zlatan replacement

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has refused to reveal who the club are targeting to replace outgoing striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though he ruled out a move for Genoa's Mattia Destro.

Ibrahimovic, 30, completed his move to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday and will join former Rossoneri team-mate Thiago Silva at the Parc des Princes after a reported €20 million deal was agreed.

With two stars departing the San Siro in the space of a few days, Milan are now under pressure to bring in players of appropriate quality to fill the voids left in their defence and attack.

Manchester City pair Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko have both been strongly linked to the seven-time European champions, with the former initially a target in January and the latter on Milan's radar before he left Wolfsburg for the Premier League in 2010.

However, Galliani is remaining tight-lipped on the rumoured interest in the City strikers, telling Gazzetta dello Sport: "Dzeko or Tevez? Let's wait and see.''

When asked how he intended to replace Ibrahimovic, he added: "There's time to do so until August 31.''

Genoa forward Destro, who scored 13 goals last season, is also reportedly being courted by Milan but with Roma keen on the young Italian, Galliani does not expect to make a swoop. "We don't want to interfere with Roma,'' the Milan chief said.

Prior to the departures of Ibrahimovic and Silva, Milan had already lost seasoned veterans Filippo Inzaghi, Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro Nesta and Gennaro Gattuso, who were all released by the club.
