Leverkusen to keep Schurrle
Bayer Leverkusen general manager Rudi Voller has ruled out selling reported Chelsea target Andre Schurrle.
Schurrle, 21, has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea after it was suggested the Blues were set to lodge an improved offer for his services, having reportedly seen a €20 million bid turned down.
However, Leverkusen have stressed they will not be allowing the Germany international, who signed for the club from Mainz in 2011, to leave this summer.
"There is no alternative to the decision of not selling Andre Schurrle," Voller told kicker-Sportmagazin. "We are unable to sign a replacement.
"Those adequate players that are available are too expensive and therefore we would be forced to sign a weaker player overpriced. The matter is over with and I have also told Andre so."
Leverkusen director Wolfgang Holzhauser added: "We have not received any new bid from Chelsea for Andre Schurrle. And we really do not want to talk about this topic anymore."
