McCarthy out of Forest running
Mick McCarthy has ruled himself out of the running for the Nottingham Forest job, after reports on Monday suggested he was the favourite for the vacant role.
The Al-Hasawi family are searching for a new manager after they sacked Steve Cotterill following the completion of their takeover of Forest last week.
Talks had taken place between the Kuwaiti-based owners and former Wolves boss McCarthy, indicating the Irishman could be set for the position.
However, it has been confirmed that McCarthy will not be handed the role, meaning the Al-Hasawi family's search goes on, with Glenn Hoddle, Darren Ferguson and Roy Keane considered candidates.
