Laudrup eyes more signings

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup still hopes to recruit a couple more players before the start of the league season.

Laudrup, who has already brought in Spanish defender Chico and Canadian midfielder Jonathan de Guzman this summer, believes there are still areas of the squad that need improving.

The Danish manager, though, was not willing to name potential targets, to avoid driving up the asking price.

"There's more work to do," Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post. "I don't want to say so much about the names, because we have to realise there are a lot of clubs in the same position as we are right now.

"We have to spend our money well. We have to do things quietly because if we talk too much, other clubs will say 'Oh, we would like that as well'.

"The only thing we do by mentioning names is put the prices up, and the only people who will be satisfied with that are the clubs who own the players. We cannot say so much, but we are working on things."

Swansea will depart for their pre-season tour of the United States next weekend, with Laudrup hopeful of concluding deals before departure.
