No Russia approach for Capello

Former England manager Fabio Capello has not been contacted about becoming the coach of Russia, his agent and son has said.

Speculation has linked Capello with the post, which was vacated by Dick Advocaat after Russia went out of Euro 2012 at the group stage.

Pierfilippo Capello has denied that the Russian Football Union has been in touch, but said the 66-year-old coach - who resigned from the England job in February - would be willing to consider any coaching offer from the country.

"There has not been any contact between Fabio Capello and the Russian Football Federation so far - not even informally," Pierfilippo told the Italian news agency Agi.

"Should an offer arrive from the national team or a club either in Moscow or another big Russian city, it would probably be a country we would take into consideration as my father would like it and be interested in going there."

Advocaat resigned after Russia, who had begun Euro 2012 with a 4-1 hammering of Czech Republic, bowed out of the tournament following a shock 1-0 defeat by Greece in their final group game.
