Union score late winner against Galaxy

Michael Farfan grabbed a 95th-minute winner for Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night as they nicked a dramatic Major League Soccer victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The 24-year-old lashed a fine shot past Josh Saunders, beating the Galaxy goalkeeper at his far post, to secure the points deep into the six minutes' added time.

Farfan had earlier set up Jack McInerney to put Philadelphia ahead with a neat back-heel in first-half stoppage time, only for Chad Barrett to get the defending MLS Cup champions back on level terms with a 73rd-minute equaliser.

Elsewhere, Kansas City moved up to second in the Eastern Conference thanks to a 3-1 win over the Montreal Impact at Stade Saputo.

Patrice Bernier had given the hosts the lead four minutes into the second half but Kei Kamara and Graham Zusi converted penalties to turn the game on its head before Jacob Peterson's deflected effort sealed matters eight minutes from time.

Real Salt Lake had much the better of their clash with the Seattle Sounders but could not find the breakthrough and had to settle for a goalless draw at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Toronto FC stretched their unbeaten run to five games with a 1-1 draw at FC Dallas.

Zach Loyd gave the hosts the perfect start at FC Dallas Stadium by opening the scoring in the fifth minute, but Danny Koevermans equalised in the 31st minute to continue Toronto's revival under head coach Paul Mariner and extend the hosts' winless streak to 12 matches.

Finally, the Vancouver Whitecaps edged the Colorado Rapids 1-0 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, Darren Mattocks capitalising on Drew Moor's poor clearance to net the game's only goal two minutes before half-time.
