Didier Deschamps will not be leaving Marseille to take charge of Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal, according to the Ligue 1 club.
Reports in local newspaper La Provence claimed that Deschamps, 44, is concerned about the l'OM's current financial situation, while L'Equipe suggested he "made up his mind to leave Marseille several weeks ago2.
Saudi club Al-Hilal, who have just parted ways with Ivan Hasek - their 18th manager in the past ten years, have been linked with a swoop for the former France and Juventus midfielder, but Marseille are adamant that their boss is staying at the Stade Velodrome.
"Didier Deschamps will be there at the start of pre-season training on Monday," a statement from Marseille said.
Director of communications Luc Laboz added: "We still have a contract with our coach, we are sticking to it."
Deschamps has won six trophies during his three-year spell at Marseille, including the 2009-10 Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de la Ligue last season.
