Meireles tight-lipped over future

Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles has refused to be drawn on reports Napoli have made an approach for his services.

Portugal international Meireles, 29, signed for the Blues last year during Andre Villas-Boas' tenure but is reported to have been made available for transfer this summer.

Napoli are looking to bolster their midfield options and, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis believed to have made contact with the player's agent, it is claimed he could make an £8 million switch to Serie A.

Meireles, speaking ahead of his country's Euro 2012 semi-final with Spain, said any decision would have to be made after the tournament. "I am focused on the Euros and cannot think about my future now," he said.

Napoli are also reported to be considering a bid for Juventus midfielder Michele Pazienza.

"We are looking at various options, but there's nothing official at the moment," his agent, Vincenzo D'Ippolito, told AreaNapoli.it. "I would certainly not rule out a return to Naples."

The 29-year-old ended a three-year spell with Napoli to join Juve last summer, but he was headed to Udinese for a loan spell from January.
