Mancini: We want to keep Kolarov

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said the club will not look to move on left-back Aleksandar Kolarov this summer, despite rumours to the contrary.

Kolarov, 26, arrived at City in 2010 for a fee of £18 million from Lazio, but has failed to cement a regular place in the first-team with competition from Gael Clichy.

Mancini, though, insists that the club are not looking to move on the Serbian, who did feature heavily during the side's Champions League campaign.

"Kolarov? He is a great left-back and I would like to keep him,'' Mancini told Italian TV station Sky Sport 24.

"We have very good players and there are many clubs interested in them, which means that we have done our jobs well. We know his (Kolarov's) value well and we want to keep him."

Kolarov, who made just 12 league starts for City this season as they claimed a first Premier League title, is under contract until June 2015.
